2056 BEKRÖNTER BODHISATTVA. China. Ming-Dynastie. 16. Jh.. Zustand A/B. CROWNED BODHISATTVA. China. Ming Dynasty. 16th c. Bronze with dark patina and a darkened lacquer gilding. Seated in padmâsana on a lotus throne, his hands held in dhyana mudrâ. He is clothed with jewelry and elegant robes. At his shoulders to the right a patra-bowl and at the left a book on the stalks of lotus that he is holding in his hands. The finely crafted and highly detailed bronze still shows some of the original lacquer gilding that is mostly darkened.
