2130 BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI. Tibet. Ca. 16. Jh. Vergoldete Bronze mit feiner Ziselierung, Reste von kultischer Bemalung. Der historische Buddha sitzend auf einem doppelten Lotos, mit der Rechten die Erde zum Zeugen seiner Erleuchtung anrufend, mit der Linken die patra-Schale haltend. Er trägt die drei jiasha-Gewänder und jedes davon ist mit einer Lotosbordüre verziert. Das ausdrucksvolle Antlitz mit konturiert geschnittenen Zügen zeigt einen konzentrierten Ausdruck. Die Figur wurde separat gegossen und auf dem unten offenen Sockel befestigt. Aufgrund der Größe und Qualität ist darauf zu schließen, dass diese Figur in einem Tempel aufgestellt wurde. Höhe 24,5cm. The historical Buddha sitting on a double lotus, with his right hand in the mudrâ of calling the earth to witness his enlightenment, his left hand holding the patra bowl. He wears all three jiasha robes, from which each is adorned with a fine lotus border. His face is cut with contoured features, showing a concentrated expression. The figure was cast separately and is mounted on the open base. Due to its size and quality it can be concluded that this figure was used in a temple. Height 24.5cm. Condition A/B. Somewhat rubbed.
