2062 SHANCAI TONGZI. China. Ming-Dynastie (1368-1644). Bronze mit zweifarbiger Lackfassung und Blattgold. Der in zahlreichen Mythen erscheinende Jüngling (Sanskrit: Sudhanakumâra) steht auf einem hohen Sockel, die Hände in anjali mudrâ zusammengelegt. Höhe 35cm, Breite 11cm, Tiefe 8cm. Zustand B. Sockel hinten etwas verbogen. Als Erleuchtungsuchender wird er im Avatam-Sutra beschrieben. Zusammen mit Longnü bildet er die Begleitung der Guanyin. Er wird oft mit dem Goldknaben (jintong) verwechselt bzw. gleich gesetzt. Dieser ist jedoch ursprünglich Begleiter des Jadekaisers. SHANCAI TONGZI. China. Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Bronze with two-colored lacquer and gold leaf. The young man (Sanskrit: Sudhanakumâra) standing on a high throne appears in numerous myths. His hands are folded in anjali mudrâ. His loincloth is tied with a ribbon with swastica knot and his shoulders are clad in a cape with long ribbons. Height 35cm, width 11cm, depth 8cm. Condition B. Base slightly bent. As an enlightened seeker, he is described in the Avatam-Sutra. Together with Longnü he accompanies Guanyin. Bronze with lacquer gilding. Standing on a table-like base and holding a long flat book with both hands. She is dressed in wide robes and her hair is dressed up into two loops with long ribbons. Together with Shancai she is usually part of the entourage of Guanyin. Height 25cm.
