The four armed manifestation of Avalokiteshvara sitting in padmasana and with Bodhisattva jewelry and antelope skin over his left shoulder. A rosary (mala) and lotus flower in his outer hands, his inner hands hold the wishgranting gem (cintamani). His head is adorned by a small Buddha. Figure sealed with plate. Height 19.5cm. Heavy copper bronze richly engraved and partially fire-gilding, with pigments and inlaid stones. The Hindu deity in typical relaxed posture and leaning on his left arm. The right hand resting on his knee. On his head an imposing fan-shaped crown, on his forehead the characteristic horizontal third eye. The elaborate engraving on the crown as well as on his garment is remarkable. Height 25.5cm. Condition A/B. Supplement: New wooden stand.
