He is sitting on a throne with a footstool, holding a hu stick with both hands. As a daoist deity for culture and literature, he is worshipped by students before examinations. Bronze with dark patina, the smaller figure with lacquer gilding. Dressed in official robes with courtly headgear, he holds a dignity scepter in his hands.
