Der weit geschwungene Deckel mit Standring, so dass er auch als flache Schale verwendet werden kann, dekoriert mit Hahn und Henne zwischen blühenden Chrysanthemen. Die Schale mit abgesetzter Wand, bemalt mit zwei Bambuszweigen. Höhe 23cm, Ø 47,5cm. Zustand A/B. Provenienz: -Sammlung Kühlmann-Stumm, tätig um 1900 an der Botschaft in Tokyo. Japan 2283 BODHISATTVA AUF LOTOSTHRON MIT MANDORLA. Japan. Edo-Zeit. 18. Jh. Holz, lackiert und teilweise vergoldet. Der sechsarmige Buddha, bekleidet mit vorne offenem Gewand und hoher Kopfbedeckung, sitzt auf einem Lotosthron und wird von einer gewölbten Wolken- Mandorla umfangen. Sein Hauptarmpaar ist vor der Brust gefaltet, die weiteren vier Arme erhoben und Gegenstände haltend, von denen nur noch ein Schwert und eine Flasche oder ein Beutel auf der rechten Seite erhalten sind. Auf der Rückseite der Mandorla vier Schriftzeichen: Gan shu shô tei (in etwa: Wir bitten Dich Herr, erleuchte diesen Hof). Höhe 38,1cm, Breite 20,4cm. Zustand B. Beilage: Mehrstufiger Lotosthron auf Wolkensockel. Japan, 18. Jh. Holz mit Lack und Blattgold. H.17,5cm. Wood with red lacquer, decorated in gold with hiramaki-e. The wide sweeping bowl with stepped wall with two bamboo branches. The domed lid with a high footring, for the use as plate. The lid with hen and rooster under blooming chrysanthemums. Height 23cm, Ø 47.5cm. Condition A/B. BODHISATTVA ON LOTUS THRONE WITH MANDORLA. Japan. Edo period. 18th c. Wood, lacquered with gilded parts. The six-armed Buddha, dressed with an open front robe and high headpiece, seated on a lotus throne and surrounded by a cloud mandorla. His main arms are folded in front of the chest, the other four arms are lifted holding objects, of which only a sword and a bottle or bag are preserved. On the back of the mandorla four characters: Gan shu shô tei (transl. roughly: We beg you, master, illuminate this yard). Height 38.1cm, width 20.4cm. Condition B. Supplement: Lotus throne on cloud base. Japan, 18th c. Wood with lacquer and leaf gold. Height 17.5cm.
