1731 INRÔ: NIÔ UND PAGODE. Japan. Edo-Zeit. 2. H. 19. Jh. Sechsteilig. In einem mit Silber abgesetzten Rahmen, ganz bedeckt mit dichtem, kleinteiligem sog. Somada- Lack bestehend aus fein geschnittenen Goldfolien-Partikeln, abwechselnd mit solchen aus leuchtend grünen Aogai, versenkte Paneele auf beiden Seiten, bedeckt mit dichtem Kinji, der wie eine Gold-Folie wirkt, auf der einen Seite die Halb-Figur eines Niô mit eingesetzten Augen aus Perlmutt mit roter Pupille, stehend hinter einer Palisade bei einem Schrein-Pfahl. Auf der Rückseite eine dreistöckige Pagode mit Sorintô-Spitze, hervorragend hinter einer jungen Zeder und Kiefern. Innen Nashiji. H.10,4cm. Sign.: Gyokuzan, vgl. Wra. Within a frame accentuated in silver, entirely covered in thick, detailed so-called Somada laquer of finely cut gold foil, alternating with such of brilliant green Aogai, recessed panels on both sides, covered in thick Kinji, having the effect of gold foil on one side the half-length figure of a Niô with inlaid eyes of mother-of-pearl with red pupils, standing behind a palisade at the pillar of a shrine. On verso a three-story pagoda with Sorintô tip, standing out above a young cedar and pine tree. Nashiji inside. H.10.4cm. Signed: Gyokuzan, cf. Wra. p. 63 an artist living in the Edo period and active until the middle of the Meiji period. Condition A. Sechsteilig mit abgesetzter Schnurführung. Fond: grünlicher Kinji mit feinen Goldlack-Splittern. In farbiger Takamakie mit Grün, Rot, Schwarz, feinen Einlagen aus Haliotis-Perlmutt und Kirigane ein Bronze-Dreifuß stehend auf einem gebogenen Goldlack-Tischchen mit geschwungenen Beinen, zwischen denen eine Vase mit einer blühenden Kamelie in Kirigane steht, Zarge und Rand mit Aogai-Einlagen akzentuiert, auf der Rückseite orientalische Wasserkanne und steifer Fächer. Early 19th century. Six-part with separate cord runners. Ground: greenish Kinji with delicate splinters of gold laquer. In colored Takamakie with green, red, black, delicate inlays of Haliotis mother-of-pearl and Kirigane a bronze tripot standing on a small gold laquered table with curved legs, in-between which stands a vase with a blooming camellia in Kirigane, apron and rim accentuated with Agoai inlays, on verso oriental water jug and stiff fan. H.9.7cm. Signed: Tsunenaga & Kakihan on bottom, not in Wra. Condition A/B. Fasan in farbigem Federkleid stehend unter einem blühenden Baum, der sich auf der Rückseite fortsetzt, wo die Henne aufschaut zu den blühenden Zweigen. 8,1 x 6,3 x 1,9cm. INRÔ: COUPLE OF PHEASANTS. Japan. Edo period. 19th century. Six-part. Light Nashiji with Kinji, red and silver, inside Nashiji & red laquer. Pheasant in colorful plumage standing beneath a blooming tree, extending to the verso, where the hen looks up to blooming branches. 8,1 x 6,3 x 1,9cm. Sign.: Koma Koryu saku & Kakihan similar to the one depicted in Wra, dated spring Bunsei 5 (1822). Condition A.
