In jeder Hälfte des Altars in sehr feiner Schnitzerei mit Details in Gold gehöht, der blauhaarige Bodhisattva Amitâbha auf Lotosthron über Wolken vor einem Fond dichter Sechsecke in Gold- Lack, auf der anderen Seite eine Urne mit einer Spitze, typisch für die Glockenform Kongô. Each half of the altar very delicately carved, with details highlighted in gold, with blue hair the Bodhisattva Amitabha on a lotus throne above clouds on a background decorated with gold lacquer hexagons, on the other side an urn with a tip in the shape of a Kongô. Shibata Zeshin, 1807-91. Flach oval mit Überfall-Deckel. Ganz bedeckt mit einem matten, flaschengrünen Lack mit einer stellenweise feinen, eher angedeuteten Marmorierung der Oberfläche, wie sie gerne von Shibata Zeshin verwendet wurde. Der Deckel geschmückt in Iroe- Takabori mit Gold, Grau und rötlichbraunem Sabiji mit eingestreuten Gold- und Perlmutt-Partikeln. B.6,2cm, T.2,8cm, H.2cm. Entirely covered with matt bottle-green lacquer, slightly marbled, a delicate effect very much liked by Shibata Zeshin. The lid decorated in Iroe-Takabori with gold, grey, and reddish-brown Sabiji, accentuated by powdered gold and mother-of-pearl. Signed in his typically delicate scratches: Zeshin. Cf. The guardian god Kongô Rikishi in characteristic posture in very dark Shakudô with gilt eyes, delicately modelled and engraved details. Transformed into a pendant by an engraved gold plate and hinge. Ganz bedeckt mit einem dicht gestreuten Goldlack mit größeren Metall-Partikeln. Im unteren Drittel gewellte Streifen in Silbrig-Grau, Gold, Schwarz, Grau, Rot und Türkis, wie ein Flussbett verlaufend, von außen kommend und auch wieder gehend. 8.7 x 6,1 x 1,8cm. Zustand A. Beilage: Grünes Seidentuch und Holzdose mit Schiebedeckel. Provenienz: -Gekauft in London 3/1979. MINATURE TRAY. Japan. Meiji period. End of the 19th century. Rectangular with silver sides, rim slightly thickened. Entirely covered in densely strewn gold lacquer highlighted with small metal particles. On the lower third undulating stripes of silvery-grey, gold, black, grey, red and turquoise, like the course of a river, coming from outside and leaving the same way. 8.7 x 6.1 x 1.8cm. Mit breitem, gewölbtem Rücken und Seiten und 30 mit Kinji bedeckten Zähnen. Der breite Rahmen ist dicht bedeckt mit sorgfältig ausgewählten und platzierten, fast quadratischen, leuchtend grünen Perlmuttplättchen, eingerahmt von silbernen, die einen schönen Kontrast zu den grünen bilden in Nachempfindung des Ming-zeitlichen Aogai Chôbei-Stils. Auf den beiden Seiten und auf dem Rand wurden zwei silberne und eine goldene Awabi-Muscheln platziert, zusätzlich auf der Rückseite die offene Schale einer Awabi-Muschel, eingelegt aus Silber, geschmückt mit der Ansicht eines chin. Tempels. B.11,4cm, H.5,7cm. Sign.: Somada Hisamitsu auf goldenem Paneel, vgl. WraIndex, der ihn auf S. 272 aufführt und die Daten 1795-1856 gibt. Toshi & Siegel auf Silber-Paneel. Zustand A. Beilage: Nicht zugehörige Holz-Dose. KUSHI (COMB). Japan. Edo period. 1st half of the 19th century. With a broad, curved ridge and sides and 30 teeth covered in Kinji. The broad frame is densely covered in carefully chosen and placed, almost square, bright green mother-of-pearl flakes, framed by silver ones, which beautifully contrast the green ones inspired by Ming-dynasty Aogai Chôbei style. On both sides and on the edge two silver and one golden Awabi shell, additionally on verso an open Awabi shell, inlaid in silver, decorated with the view of a Chinese temple. Signature on golden panel: Somada Hisamitsu, cf. WraIndex, listig it on p. 272 and giving the dates 1795-1856. Additionally a silver panel with the name: Toshi & seal.
