Die Bronze ist die zweite Reduktion des Themas, entstanden nach 1893. Im Werksverzeichnis heißt es hierzu " Plus petite, la seconde réduction est plus rare." Die verschiedenen Versionen des Themas befinden sich u.a. in Reims, Musée des Beaux Arts; Baltimore, Walters Art Gallery; Paris, Musée d'Orsay. Der ursprüngliche Entwurf hat eine Höhe von 2,90m und wird im Louvre ausgestellt
