Falling in Love with Stephan Balkenhol

Valentine's Day is a time to give a gift that will last. A work of art is more than just a sign of affection – it accompanies, inspires, and unfolds its value over many years. This is precisely what makes it so special.

For the premiere of VAN HAM Art Editions we are delighted to offer you, just in time for Valentine's Day, Stephan Balkenhol's characteristic bronze sculptures “Woman” and “Man” as a pair. The edition combines precision craftsmanship with an unmistakable artistic signature. Art is a gift that does not fade away, but remains present in everyday life and continually takes on new meaning. Of course, we will ensure that the artwork arrives in time for Valentine's Day* – ready to bring joy on a special day that will be remembered.

“These figures, man and woman, appear repeatedly in my work. The man in the white shirt and black trousers in particular represents everyone.”  Stephan Balkenhol

With the bronze sculptures “Woman” and “Man,” VAN HAM Art Editions offers collectors the opportunity to acquire an iconic pair of sculptures by one of the most important international contemporary artists. Stephan Balkenhol's anonymous figures do not tell stories. Nevertheless, they serve as a projection surface for human existence and, for this very reason, trigger emotions in the viewer. Each sculpture was created in a complex bronze casting process and underwent numerous production steps and finishing processes. Stephan Balkenhol's final, characteristic painting gives each bronze a unique artistic expression.
