Origin: Presumably England.
Date: Presumably ca. 1900.
Material: Silver and red gold, tested.
Weight: 6.5 g.
Measurement: ca. 27.4 x 30.6 mm.
Diamonds: 19 diamonds in old-cut in total ca. 0.39 ct.
Gemstones: 21 round and oval, faceted sapphires in totalca. 3.6 ct.
Description: Crescent-shaped brooch set with sapphires and diamonds, made of silver and rose gold. The sparkling diamond crescent was one of the most characteristic and popular jewellery motifs of the Belle Époque.
Condition: In good condition. Traces of wear according to age in the form of minor to medium scratches as well as small dents on the gold. Due to the manufacturing process pores visible in places. Brooch presumably renewed, originally presumably attached on the inside. Heavy oxidation present. Sapphires with slight abrasions.
