FAQs Preview and Auction

We look forward to welcoming you to our preview in Cologne and have summarized frequently asked questions in the FAQs.

Will there be a preview?

Yes, according to the announcement of the NRW state government on 06.05.2020 we are allowed to carry out previews. VAN HAM will ensure that the required hygiene regulations are observed. This includes, among other things, that no more than 1 visitor/10 sqm is present at our premises.

Please understand that under these conditions waiting times at the entrance may occur.

We are also happy to arrange individual appointments to view works even before the preview.

In order to comply with our duty of care, the following regulation applies to the auctions: If necessary, we can only allocate seats in the auction hall after advance reservation. You are welcome to reserve a seat with immediate effect by indicating the day of the auction and the time period. To do so, please contact us by phone at +49 (0) 221 92 58 62 153 or by email at s.himmes@van-ham.com.

What do I have to consider when visiting the preview?

A smile replaces the handshake as a greeting.

As protective masks are compulsory, we ask you to bring your protective mask with you.

Please observe the distance rules of 1.5m during your visit.  At the information counter, lines at a distance of 1.5m indicate the necessary distance.

In order not to exceed the number of persons admitted of 72, 72 limited visitor cards will be distributed, which will be disinfected when leaving the house.

At the entrance you will find a hygiene station with disinfectant, protective masks and disposable gloves for those who wish to take possession of the objects.

Bids and identity cards are only accepted by our staff wearing disposable gloves, or the hands are disinfected before and after.

Due to the distance rules, waiting times may occur, especially at the showcases and jewellery counters.
