(can be seen from 28 May 2025)

28 May – 12 June 2025
The sale closes from 5pm.

This summer, the majority of the artworks from the collection of Bayer AG in Leverkusen will be offered for sale at Van Ham in Cologne. The Evening Sale will kick off at the beginning of June with the 95 highlights of the collection. The other works of art from the Bayer Collection will be offered via our ONLINE ONLY. With the Bayer Collection, Van Ham has once again been awarded the contract for an important corporate collection and confirms its position as the leading German house for large private and corporate collections.

In recent years, the way in which and where people work together in companies has changed significantly. This has also had an impact on how art is displayed in the workplace. Bayer is therefore parting with classical and representative works from its extensive art collection from various Group sites. The company’s modern office landscapes will continue to offer space for young art. To this end, the works of artists sponsored by Bayer in recent years will remain in the company. The company’s historical collection will also remain in the possession of the traditional Leverkusen-based group.

The Bayer Collection focuses on German Expressionism, works of classical modernism and post-war art as well as works from the École de Paris, German Art Informel and American Abstract Expressionism. Various German positions from the 1970s, abstraction and new figuration from the 1980s and 1990s as well as young contemporary art complete the wide-ranging spectrum.
